Pragya Varma, M.Ed.

Registered Provisional Psychologist
Counselling Therapist

Pragya Varma, M.Ed. Registered Provisional Psychologist

My approach to counselling is eclectic. I use techniques from different evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and other integrative approaches tailored to each client’s needs. My goal is to create a collaborative and equal relationship with my clients, where they feel safe and supported. We work together towards healing. I recognize that a person’s cultural background can greatly impact their experiences. Therefore, I use culturally informed and safe practices. I also believe that mental and emotional health is affected by factors like childhood experiences, relationships, and habits like sleep. I explore these areas during therapy.

I have worked with clients facing issues such as anxiety, depression, academic stress, racial identity, life changes, relationship problems, trauma (PTSD), and complex trauma. I have also helped those who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence. I work with adults and couples. For couples, I have completed Gottman Method Level 1 Training.

Pragya is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who completed her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. She also has a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Alberta. She is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Provisional Psychologist.

Nabiha Rawdah, M.A.

Registered Provisional Psychologist
Counselling Therapist

Nabiha Rawdah, MACP, Registered Provisional PsychologistHello! Thank you for taking the first step towards finding support. For some people, they may have been thinking about connecting with a therapist for a while; for others, there may have been a sudden life change or other unexpected difficulties that prove challenging to manage in the here and now. Wherever you are in your journey, and for whatever reasons that led you to seek out counselling right now in your life, I welcome and value the choice and work you are already doing to make changes in your life.

My name is Nabiha Rawdah, and I am a registered provisional psychologist at Boost Psychology. My pronouns are she/her, and I am a racialized settler of Middle Eastern origin. I have been living in Edmonton for the past three years with my spouse and young child.

My passion for studying psychology took shape when I was an adolescent growing up in a small town, attempting to understand myself and others. On a whim, I purchased Abraham Maslow’s autobiography at a book sale and was inspired by the gentle, kind, and positive view of human nature. This defining moment sparked my interest in studying psychology later on in my life, and contributed to a deeply held appreciation and respect for the field of psychology as a whole.

Jenn Warrell - Intern Psychologist - Boost Psychology

Jenn is a Master of Counselling student at City University, who will be completing her internship with Boost Psychology. Currently, Jenn works with youth, adults, and couples who are experiencing concerns such as depression, stress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, grief and loss, burnout, emotional lability, and trauma.

Jenn considers counselling to be the process of providing support, compassion, and hope, as well as the experience of having another person walk beside you through your most challenging moments. To assist clients through this process, Jenn utilizes Dialectical Behavioural Therapy informed skills as well as Narrative and Existential Therapies.

Jenn is practicing under the supervision of a registered psychologist as she is completing her internship and can offer counselling at reduced rates. Haley Ehl

Intern Therapist

Ehl Photo - Boost Psychology - Intern Psychologist

Hello, my name is Haley. I like to think of therapy as a conversation that guides you to a deeper understanding of yourself and your personal and professional goals. Ensuring that clients feel comfortable being themselves in session is my number one priority.

I am currently a Master of Counselling student, and am working with clients aged 14 and older. Together, we can learn to understand and explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship patterns, family systems and major life transitions.

Honesty, connection, compassion and a sense of humour (especially the kind that helps us persevere through the tough times) are some of the things I value most. In my opinion, these are the key ingredients for meaningful change and self-awareness.

Prior to beginning my counselling journey, I had the opportunity to work with youth in community and government sectors. This experience taught me about the resiliency that resides in each and every individual, expanded my understanding and appreciation for complex family systems and reiterated the importance of safety and respect in the therapeutic space.

In my practice, I strive to provide a collaborative, person-centred, and non-judgmental approach. I draw on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) as well as emotion-focused, solution-focused and relational frameworks to ensure that clients receive support that is best suited to their needs and that the therapeutic experience is authentic.

In my downtime, I love spending time with friends and family (especially my family dog) and trying out local food spots.
